My Saree Hall of Fame

A celebration of the sarees you already treasure. It recognises the traditions you hold, what you declare about each, the Coveted Ten masterworks among them and how far your collection reaches across India — never what they cost.

Treasured silk sarees with woven gold pallus laid across a carved table, like heirlooms brought out for an occasion

Regional breadth

Woven across India

Each of the Atlas’s 44 traditions belongs to one of six regions. Your first region adds +1, the second +2, and so on to +6 for the sixth: 21 points for all six. Wishes in your Wishlist do not count; sarees you own do. The outline is the official Survey of India outline; the regions are drawn as quilt patches, so their seams are stylised rather than administrative borders.

Add a saree you own

Choose the tradition and, if you know it, the exact variety. Only a precise Coveted Ten masterwork earns +8.

What can you declare about it?

Each counts once per tradition, and only if you declare it.

How recognition works

Clear and deliberately simple. Points reward breadth, what you declare and the exact masterworks you hold — never price, and never owning the same thing twice.

RecognitionPointsHow it is counted
Each distinct tradition+1Once per tradition, however many you own.
Silk, declared+1Once per tradition, when you declare it.
Handloom, declared+1Once per tradition, when you declare it. Silk and handloom are separate declarations.
A Coveted Ten masterwork+8Once for each of the ten, and only for the exact masterwork variety described in The Coveted Ten — not a general description or a tradition’s name.
Regions of India+1 to +6The first region your collection reaches adds +1, the second +2 … the sixth +6: 21 in all. Recalculated whenever you add or remove a saree.
